Giving more than just some bread

When do we ever become generous with ourselves?
What does that mean, to be generous?
The generation of generosity which we supposedly admire in
Pugs
Poetry
and
Priests -
is it authentic
Or do these sacks
of feathers and pencil discharges
hide behind their beautifying
modes of expression?

I for one have not yet learned to
give myself like water on cedars.
Yet I would like to learn how
to nod and wave and
smile
insufficiently
at the unstated desires of
you and you and you
