today's thought
I fell in love once
When our hands were
buried deep in snow and
our hearts burned blue,
glowing quick over the field,
lighting the edge of
gathered trees.
Then the forest collected
sweat and I watched
you slow and sway
up and down the
crossing paths,
finding mossy
stone fences and
disappearing
for years.
But this morning,
I was reading something
foreign and cold
when you
walked through me
And the wire moment
We pulsed
I told you
"you were brave for leaving,"
Though I really meant,
"Remember
the year we were
Planted into winter."
But you did not know
the time winding difference
between
trying to leave
and
trying to lose
You are blind to
Patience smiling at grief

ANGST!
I like the line about the forest absorbing the sweat a lot.
